Connecticut Section PGA Announces Hall of Fame Class

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Connecticut Section PGA has announced that Don Malen and the late John Murphy and Al Fuchs have been elected as the newest members of its hall of fame.

Malen served as the Golf Professional at the Golf Club of Avon for more than 30 years and was named the 1993 Section Golf Professional of the Year.

Murphy was the golf professional at the Country Club of Farmington for nearly 40 years and was the 2007 Section Golf Professional of the Year. He was also inducted into the Connecticut Golf Hall of Fame. He passed away on Oct. 6 of this year.

Fuchs won the Connecticut PGA Championship in 1973 at Wallingford Country Club and was the 1975 Section Golf Professional of the Year. He served as golf professional at Mill River Country Club for many years.

The trio will be honored and formally inducted on April 25 at the Golf Club of Avon during the Connecticut Section PGA Spring Meeting.
