GLASTONBURY, CT — Eversource is continuing its tree trimming project along 54 miles of roads in Glastonbury, as part of the utility company's ongoing efforts to reduce tree-related power outages, officials announced this week. Additionally, the company is removing tall-growing and incompatible species while expanding cleared areas along transmission rights of way in the community.

"A consistent tree trimming program helps to improve day-to-day reliability during all types of weather," said Sean Redding, Eversource Manager of Vegetation Management in Connecticut, in a statement. "As a result, we continue to see fewer power outages where this work has been done. While we all love our trees, they can have a devastating effect on the electric system, especially during a storm, that’s why this work is so vital."
