Glastonbury 2015 Election Guide: The Candidates, Polling Places, Sample Ballot

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3 and we share with you some of the information you'll need to know.

When Glastonbury residents head to the polls Election Day Tuesday, they’ll be choosing who will serve on the Town Council for the next two years as candidates for the Board of Education and Board of Finance.

Here’s a breakdown on who’s running in each of the races.

Town Council

Vote for any six candidates.
The Democratic candidates are Jill Barry, Tom Gullotta, Cara Tonucci Keefe, Larry Niland, David Peniston Jr., and Andrew Van Ostrand. The Republican candidates are Kurt Cavanaugh, Stewart W. “Chip” Beckett III, Karen Boisvert, William Finn and Lawrence J. Byar.

Board of Education

Vote for any three candidates.
The Democratic candidates are Lisa Furbush, Julie Thompson, and Chittaranjan Sahay. The Republican candidates are Jeremy Grieveson, Susan Karp and Lillian Tanski.

Board of Finance

Vote for one candidate.
The Democratic candidate is Walter Cusson and James R. Zeller is the Republican candidate.

Board of Assessment Appeals

Vote for two candidates.
Michael Collins and Charlie Murray are the Democratic candidates. The Republican candidates are Chris Gallagher and Forbes S. Warren.

Zoning Board of Appeals

Vote for one candidate.
The Democratic candidate is Brian Smith and Nicholas Korns is the Republican candidate.

Zoning Board of Appeals Alternates

Vote for any two candidates.
Robyn Guimont and Adam Fleisher are the Democratic candidates. The Republican candidates are James P. Sinclair and Edward J. Andreozzi.

Board of Fire Commissioners

Vote for one candidate.

Charles Longo is running on the Democratic ticket. Gil Spencer is the Republican candidate.

Polling places are open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.:

  • District 1: Smith Middle School
  • District 2: Hebron Avenue School
  • District 3: Hebron Avenue School
  • District 4: Gideon Welles School
  • District 5: Nayaug Elementary School
  • District 7: Academy Building
  • District 9: Hopewell Elementary School
