Glastonbury Girls Win Events At CIAC Indoor Track State Open
A pair of distance runners from Glastonbury High School are state champions after capturing individual races at the State Open Saturday.
NEW HAVEN, CT — Two runners from Glastonbury High School won individual events at the CIAC girls indoor track State Open Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
Senior Brooke Strauss won the 1000 meter run, crossing the finish line in 2:54.52. Freshman Lauren Parrett claimed the 3200 meter run crown, finishing in 11:05.55.
In team competition, the Guardians placed second with 47 points, trailing only the 95 of champion Bloomfield. Naugatuck was a distant third with 26, while Windsor and Conard tied for fourth with 22.
