GLASTONBURY, CT — The Glastonbury Greater Together Community Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is seeking members fo its participatory grant-making committee.

"This is a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the future of community development in Glastonbury and help shape initiatives that will positively impact the local community," organizers said.

Since its inception in 2019, the Glastonbury Greater Together Community Fund has awarded
grants to organizations enhancing food security, mental health services, environmental sustainability and more. In 2024, the Fund awarded grant totaling $24,550 to eight organizations to fund programs or projects "to improve or enhance the quality of life for the residents of Glastonbury."

The Glastonbury Greater Together Community Fund Committee determines grant distribution, sets funding priorities, and ensures that the fund’s resources address the most pressing needs within the community. Members collaborate with the Hartford Foundation's management team to uphold transparency, fairness, and inclusivity in decision-making.

"We're looking for individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences who bring unique perspectives, skills, and a passion for making Glastonbury an even better place to live, work, and grow. Key Details About the Role:

• Time Commitment: The committee meets monthly, and members may also be asked to
participate in additional activities such as reviewing applications or attending community events.
• Eligibility: Prospective applicants must be residents of Glastonbury and at least 14 years of age.
• Skills and Experience: While experience in community development, grant-making, or project
management is helpful, it is not required. We seek individuals who are passionate about our
community's well-being.

How to Apply:

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis starting March 1, with accepted candidates invited to join the Committee for the September meeting. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their application by May 30 via www.HFPG.org/GTCFVolunter. The application form includes questions about experience, skills, and motivations for joining the Glastonbury Greater Together Community Fund Committee.
