Glastonbury Mourning Loss Of Beloved Lacrosse Coach, Dentist
The owner of a Glastonbury dental practice and longtime youth lacrosse coach in town has died.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The community will say its goodbyes this week to a beloved youth lacrosse coach and dentist who died late last month.
Susana (Barraza) Herrick, 44, of Glastonbury, died unexpectedly on June 24, in Miami, FL, according to her obituary from the Mulryan Funeral Home and local lacrosse officials.
She was the owner of Herrick Family Dentistry in Glastonbury. And coached youth lacrosse for many years.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Calling hours are slated for Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury.
Connecticut Valley Youth Lacrosse made the announcement over the weekend.

"It is with great sadness that we inform you all of the passing of Coach Sue Herrick from Glastonbury Youth Lacrosse," the announcement said. "Sue was an amazing coach at both the Rising Star and Bantam level. She was a valued member of the Glastonbury Youth Lacrosse program as well as CVYL. Sue was always willing to help others in need and spread her kindness everywhere. She will be greatly missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends."
Said Glastonbury Youth Lacrosse, "Sue was known for her passion for lacrosse but also for her bubbly, warm personality and her infectious laugh. Sue had such a positive impact on all of the young athletes that were lucky enough to be coached by her."
Herrick played lacrosse and volleyball at Central Connecticut State University. She coached her two daughters, Izzy and Gabby, and was married to her husband, Zach, for more than 15 years.
She was an associate at Galvin & Round Family Dentistry 2015 and that year became partner in the practice. In 2018, she became sole owner of the practice, now Herrick Family Dentistry.
