Glastonbury Named One Of The Best Places To Live In CT — Twice
Rankings website Niche.com just published its 2025 list of the "best places to live in Connecticut."

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury has been named one of the best places to live in the state of Connecticut — twice — in an annual ranking compiled by Niche.com. "Glastonbury Center" was named No. 2 and "Glastonbury" was No. 9.
West Hartford was again named the best place to live in Connecticut, in the latest set of rankings released by Niche on Monday.
Now in its 11th year, the ranking from the data-driven platform Niche is designed to help everyone from young people just starting their careers or families to retirees decide where they want to live. The report analyzes places of various sizes, including cities with populations of 100,000 or more, suburbs and neighborhoods.

Niche said "Glastonbury Center" was described as "a suburb of Hartford with a population of 7,860. Glastonbury Center is in Hartford County and is one of the best places to live in Connecticut. Living in Glastonbury Center offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Glastonbury Center there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many retirees live in Glastonbury Center and residents tend to lean liberal. The public schools in Glastonbury Center are highly rated." Schools received an A+ grade, as did family life. The housing market was rated A- and receiving a B grade were nightlife and diversity. The crime rating was blank.
"Glastonbury" was cited as having 35,136 people. The same grades were assigned to the same categories, along with crime, which was a "B."

The rankings are based on a wide range of public data sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, combined with millions of resident reviews.
Towns are listed more than once all over the rankings. For example, just about every neighborhood in Greenwich is listed as a separate entity.
Niche said Community attributes considered in developing the list included the health of the local housing market, neighborhood diversity, area public schools and walkability, among others. (More on methodology.)
