Glastonbury Obituary: Irene Gutt, 67

Irene J. Gutt died November 15, 2018 in The Hospital of Central Connecticut after a period of failing health.

Irene was the daughter of Jack and Della (Blazis) Gutt, of Glastonbury. Irene lived in Columbia in a group home managed by MARCH, Inc. of Manchester for most of her adult life. Despite her disabilities, she had a mischievous and playful spirit that those who knew her will long remember.

She is survived by her sister Carol Gutt and her spouse Marie Duffy of Shrewsbury, MA, her brother Richard Gutt and his wife Cosby Gutt of Glastonbury, nieces Courtney Kelleher of Walpole, MA and Leeza Gutt of Glastonbury as well as the many friends she met throughout her life.

Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Josh Corlett and the devoted staff at the Deer Hill home who cared for and loved Irene over the years. Irene was blessed to have been protected and surrounded by people who were morally committed to caring for those who cannot speak on their own behalf. Thank you caregivers, staff of the State of CT DMR Willimantic, and Dr. Kristin Gildersleeve.

Funeral service will be Saturday Nov. 24 at 10:30am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning one hour prior to the service.
