Glastonbury Pizza Restaurant Will Permanently Close This Weekend

"Barring a miracle," the restaurant's last day in business will be Sunday, its owners wrote on Facebook.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Harry's Pizza in Glastonbury will permanently close this weekend, its owners announced on Facebook.

"Barring a miracle, we will not be able to stay open past Sunday," restaurant staff said on Wednesday.

Current owners Harry and Crystal said they took over Harry's Pizza during the COVID-19 pandemic, after the restaurant's previous owners planned to shut it down due to pandemic complications.

"We heard your cries and took on the reopening of our favorite pizza place," the Facebook page read. "That being said, Covid has still affected us."

The restaurant is urging anyone with outstanding gift cards to use them, and its staff thanked patrons for their love and support over the last year and a half.

Their Facebook post had over 20 supportive comments, with many users saying they were sorry to hear the news.

"We love you guys and we know how hard you fought to make it work," one user wrote, and another said "In a normal world you would have thrived."

Harry's Pizza initially expanded to Glastonbury in June 2017, and is located at 363 New London Tpke. Its first location opened in West Hartford in 1989.
