Glastonbury Plans Review Committee Examines Home Proposal
The Glastonbury Plan and Zoning Commission's Plans Review Subcommittee met Tuesday.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Glastonbury Plan and Zoning Commission's Plans Review Subcommittee met Tuesday, Jan. 13, focusing on a proposed new home on a rear lot.
The special meeting began at 8:15 a.m. in Meeting Room A at Town Hall with Subcommittee members Bob Zanlungo Jr., Sharon Jagel and Laura Cahill in attendance, alongside Shelley Caltagirone, Director of Community Development.
At 1696 Hebron Ave., the applicants presented plans for a single-family house on an existing rear lot in the Rural Residence Zone. Representatives including Attorney Meghan A. Hope, engineer Taylor Kapell, PE, builder Paul Scalzo, and contract purchasers Francis O’Briant and Katherine O’Briant described revisions made after receiving feedback from the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency.

The applicants adjusted the property line to increase distance from wetlands and plan to place a conservation easement on the rear of the lot.
After Town Engineering commented earlier that week, they said they are exploring options to improve the driveway connection, possibly by angling or widening the access. The easement is 21 feet wide with a proposed 16-foot driveway; grades range from 3 percent near the home to about 6 percent along the drive.
