Glastonbury Police Hiring Certified; Entry Level Officers
The department has several openings. All applicants must be at least 21 years old, with a high school diploma or GED and a driver's license.
GLASTONBURY, CT — The Glastonbury Police Department is hiring new police officers, and it hopes to fill "several openings."
Both entry-level and certified applicants are welcome to apply, the department said. Officers with less than 4 years of experience will make $74,505; officers with 4-less than 7 years of experience will make $87,131; and officers with 7 or more years of experience will make $93,745.
According to the job description, a Glastonbury cop "enforces local ordinances, state statutes and federal laws; preserves the peace and provides services to the citizens of Glastonbury. Performs patrol duties, traffic control and motor vehicle law enforcement, investigation of accidents and crimes, responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service and performs routine administration and support services."

Police officers must be United States citizens who are at least 21 years old (a statewide requirement). They must have a driver's license and a high school diploma or GED.
Candidates must complete an interview with the chief; a background investigation; a drug screening; and medical, psychological and polygraph examinations.
