Glastonbury Wins State Open Girls Indoor Track Championship

NEW HAVEN, CT — For the third time overall, but first since 2020, Glastonbury captured team honors in the CIAC girls indoor track State Open, cruising to victory Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.

The Guardians racked up 52 points to easily outdistance the 36 put up by E.O. Smith. Conard and Hall, crosstown rivals from West Hartford, tied for third.

Two individual events were won by Glastonbury. Brooke Strauss prevailed in the 1,000 meter run, and the "4-A" quartet of Azariah Santavenere, Alissa Thompson-Webb, Ava Gattinella and Annika Paluska won the 1,600 sprint medley.
