GLASTONBURY, CT — It was a hydrant, not a water main.

That was the word on an leaky incident Wednesday on Shady Hill Lane and Route 83 in Glastonbury, municipal officials said.

The leak was initially feared to be a water main break, but, upon close inspection, it was discovered that a pipe to a fire hydrant was displaced, and it caused a high volume of water to leak out onto the roads and "disrupt" the pavement, officials said.
