John Dyschenuk,​ World War II Vet, Former Glastonbury Cop, Dies

John Dyschenuk​, a World War II veteran and former Glastonbury police officer, has died.

GLASTONBURY, CT — John Dyschenuk, a World War II veteran and former Glastonbury police officer, has died.

A representative from Mulryan Funeral Home and a family friend confirmed his passing on Thursday. Dyschenuk was 97.

Dysenchuk was a U.S. Marine and fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He was also a police officer in town.

Visiting hours are scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Mulryan Funeral Home in Glastonbury, 725 Hebron Ave.

A service is slated for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 26 New New London Turnpike.
