Man Accused Of Impersonating Brother Following Shoplifting: Police
A man charged with shoplifting from a Glastonbury store is accused of identifying himself to officers as his brother, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A man accused of shoplifting from a Glastonbury store has been charged with lying to officers about his identity, Glastonbury police said.
On Thursday at around 2:28 p.m., police arrested Abdias Cortes, 59, of Middletown at the Glastonbury Home Depot (115 Putnam Blvd.) following a shoplifting complaint.
"When officers initially had contact with Cortes, he identified himself as his brother," Glastonbury police wrote in a report. "His true identity was then revealed."

Cortes was charged with sixth-degree larceny, criminal impersonation and interfering with an officer/resisting.
He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on May 12.
