Man Killed In One-Car Crash In Glastonbury; Police Seek Witnesses

The man was driving westbound on Route 2 when he lost control of his car, causing it to hit a group of trees and turn upright, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A 28-year-old man died in a one-car crash in Glastonbury last night, and state police are seeking witnesses to the incident.

At around 9:42 p.m. Monday, Scudder Evans, 28, of Marlborough was driving westbound in the left lane of Route 2, east of Exit 9, when for an unknown reason he lost control of the car he was driving, state police said.

Police said the car "traveled to the left, entered the grassy median, went down an embankment, and collided with a group of trees, before coming to an uncontrolled final rest upright, among the trees within the median."

Evans was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of serious injuries he suffered in the crash, police said.

He was driving a 2016 Audi A6 Premium Plus with plate BC33722, and state police are asking anyone who saw the crash to contact them.

The incident is under investigation, and witnesses should contact Trooper Michael Dean by calling 860-534-6039 or emailing michael.dean@ct.gov.

Anyone who was driving through the area at the time in a car equipped with a dashcam is also asked to contact Trooper Dean.
