Growing up he displayed the old fashion work ethic, working his newspaper route, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, working in Perry Root’s Shell Gas Station on Main St., Glastonbury.
He graduated from East Catholic High in Manchester. Paul attended the University of Santa Fe New Mexico and the University of Maryland.
His career was spent working in retail. He started out at Hechingers collecting shopping carts, working his way up to store manager. He then worked as a District Manager for Home Depot and Big Lots. Paul also obtained his Real Estate and Public Adjustor Licenses. The last year of his life was spent working hand and hand with his sons, Paul and Chris, helping people relocate from fires.
Whatever Paul tackled he did it with grit and determination and gave it 100%. He was a devoted son, looking out for his mom & dad, his wife, both of his sons, his brother, Kelly, and their two sons. He loved his calico cat that was always waiting for him on his return home. Paul’s humorous smile was his calling card.
In the spring, he loved to work outdoors, in the summer a trip to the beach when possible and in the winter skiing, watching TV and sitting by his roaring fireplace. He enjoyed watching a good football game and was a competitive swimmer as a child.
He always managed to work out any situation that life presented to him.
In addition to his parents, Paul is survived by his wife Rebecca, sons; Paul Poulin and his wife Kristy, and Chris Poulin, his brother Jim Poulin, Kelly, two nephews; Timothy and Mathew Poulin, special aunt Mary Isner, several aunts, uncles and cousins located in CT, MA, FL, TX, GA and NM.
A Special Memorial Mass with Fr. John S. Golas officiating will be held on Saturday, February 27, at 11am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury.
