Sand/Salt Mix Available To Glastonbury Residents

GLASTONBURY, CT — Free sand/salt mixture is available to Glastonbury residents this winter.

There are four pickup locations.

The mixture can be used for snow clearing on residential driveways, sidewalks, and pathways.

Here are the locations:

• Riverfront Park, 200 Welles St., at the southeast corner of the rear parking lot
• Fire Co. No. 4, at the southeast corner of the property
• The highway garage at 238 New London Turnpike, at the upper driveway
• Earle Park, 1361 Main St., in the parking area

Property owners are required to clear snow from their sidewalks.

The Fire Department is also requesting that residents clear snow around all fire hydrants (at least 2 feet around each one) in neighborhoods to help expedite fire response.
