Tours Being Offered At Key Glastonbury Facility

GLASTONBURY, CT — Walking tours of Glastonbury's Water Pollution Control Facility are scheduled for May 21.

That day, Glastonbury Superintendent of Sanitation Mike Manfre, will host two educational walking tours of the Water Pollution Control Facility located at 2149 Main St.

The informative tours of the plant are designed to show residents ]how local water passes through 10 different cleaning and treatment processes before it gets discharged into the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound.

Free tours will be open to community members on May 21 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and again from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The program is appropriate for ages 10 and older and can accommodate up to 20 attendees per tour. Participants must wear close-toed shoes that are comfortable for walking.
