'Wet Down' Ceremony Slated For New Glastonbury Fire Trucks
The Glastonbury Fire Department is hosting a traditional 'wet down' ceremony this weekend to celebrate new vehicles.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Glastonbury Fire Department is hosting a traditional 'wet down' ceremony this weekend to celebrate new vehicles.
The ceremony isa slated for June 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Company 4, 1247 Manchester Road.
"The Glastonbury community and fire departments across the state are invited to join members of Glastonbury Fire Department as we celebrate the addition of Squad 12 and Squad 33 to the fleet," fire officials said.

A wet down is a ritual celebrated by fire departments across the nation in which firefighters commission a new fire apparatus by anointing it with water.
Lite refreshments will be served.
