Woman Escapes Gunpoint Robbery At Stop & Shop: Glastonbury Police

Several suspects in a stolen vehicle tried to rob a woman at gunpoint after she finished shopping, according to police.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Police are investigating an attempted gunpoint robbery in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Saturday morning.

Police responded around 11:50 a.m. on Sept. 28 to Stop & Shop at 215 Glastonbury Boulevard on the report of an attempted robbery, according to Lt. Kevin Szydlo.

An investigation found that several suspects arrived at the parking lot in a stolen vehicle and tried to rob a woman at gunpoint while she was entering her vehicle after shopping, according to Szydlo.

Szydlo said the victim fled her vehicle and didn’t sustain any injuries.

No property was stolen, according to Szydlo.

“The robbery attempt appears to be part of a pattern of similar robberies occurring throughout the state,” Szydlo wrote in a news release.
