Interim Special Education Program Coordinator Named In Greenwich Public Schools
The appointment is effective immediately, according to Greenwich Public Schools.
GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Toni Jones has announced that Kristina Remy has been named interim special education program coordinator, effective immediately. She replaces Harry Burg, who left the district at the end of 2025.
Remy will assist building administrators, general education staff and special education staff in increasing access to curriculum for students with disabilities. Her responsibilities include reviewing and recommending supplemental curriculum materials, evaluating curricular options for non-academic instruction, and promoting universal access in curriculum and instructional development.
She will also plan, coordinate and provide professional learning for certified and non-certified staff and serve as an evaluator for certified special education and related services staff. She will report to Chief Officer of Special Education and Student Supports Dr. Stacey Heiligenthaler.

"Kristina Remy has been a great addition to Greenwich High School since she joined the district in 2022," Heiligenthaler said in an announcement. "We expect an easy transition to this role, continuing to promote a positive culture and climate in the Special Education and Student Supports Department."
Since 2022, Remy has been a special education teacher at Greenwich High School, where she has provided academic support for students with learning differences. Her previous experience includes teaching in Connecticut at Middlesex Middle School in Darien and Eagle Hill School in Greenwich, and in New York at Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center in Yonkers, Pathways School in Eastchester and The Westchester School in Yonkers.

"As interim Special Education coordinator, my goal is to strengthen a culture of collaboration that ensures every student’s unique needs are understood, valued, and supported," Remy said. "I will work closely with families, educators, and service providers to expand access to high-quality programming and to enhance student success at the secondary level."
Remy holds a bachelor’s degree in childhood education and psychology and a master’s degree in special education from Manhattanville University, as well as a master’s degree in school building leadership from Manhattan University. She holds 092 and 165 certificates and is certified as a school administrator and teacher.
