Groton School Placed On Lockdown Due To Incident: Police
A Groton school was placed on lockdown and two others were placed "in a secure status" Thursday, according to police.

GROTON, CT — Ella Grasso Technical School was placed on lockdown earlier Thursday, according to the Town of Groton Police Department.
Two other schools, Fitch Senior High School and Groton Middle School, were both placed into a secure status "out of an abundance of caution."
The lockdown has since been lifted and the schools returned to their normal status.

Police posted the following on social media:
"Earlier today, Groton Police were made aware that Ella Grasso Technical School in Groton was placed into lockdown status due to an incident within their school. Out of an abundance of caution, Groton Police contacted the principals of Fitch Senior High School and Groton Middle School and came to the decision that the schools should both be placed into a secure status, referred to as building secure. Ella Grasso Technical School subsequently lifted their lockdown within a short timeframe and our schools were returned to their normal school-day status."
