Man Charged With Hate Crime After Assault In Groton: Report
A man is accused of using a racial slur while assaulting a man at a gas station, according to a report.
GROTON, CT — A 38-year-old Groton man was charged with a hate crime after police said he used a racial slur during an assault of another man at a gas station, The Day of New London reported.
The alleged crime occurred at 12:20 p.m. Sunday at the Cumberland Farms at 273 Mitchell St.
The man was charged with first-degree intimidation due to bigotry or bias, third-degree assault, and second-degree breach of peace.
