Noank VFD donating to Sub Base FD
Raising money and food supplies for Members who have worked but not been paid...
The Noank Volunteer Fire Company #1 (NFC) has launched a donation drive to support the Groton Submarine Base Firefighters, who continue to work without pay during the ongoing federal government shutdown.
Although they have not received paychecks, these firefighters continue to report for duty each day—training and maintaining full readiness to protect the Submarine Base and surrounding communities. They always respond to neighboring towns as a supporting engine company, rescue team, or FAST unit on a first alarm. Now, as they weather this financial storm, it is our turn to be there for them.
The NFC is accepting checks and prepaid debit cards to assist with groceries, fuel, utilities, and living expenses for the firefighters and their families and also accept gift cards from local grocery stores, gas stations, and general retailers to help firefighters and their families with daily essentials.
