We live in a strange world.....

To my Noank and Area neighbors.....

Recently, there has been considerable discussion and focus on the possibility of a new cell phone tower being installed on property adjacent to Marsh Road near Spicer's Marina in Noank. Most of the residents near that area of Prospect Hill have voiced objections and a few of them have been downright rude, with bullying and smear tactics, to the Noank District Officers and Zoning Officials who have been making proper efforts to control the situation and who are actually making progress, using legal and technical support authorized by Noank citizens...

The District Officials have now had some success in making suggestions to the Tarpon group involved with the tower proposal. The result is that a different site for the tower is now being researched, which would be on Town property near the Groton Police Station on Fort Hill, where other cell phone towers already exist and provide service for our area..

And at this point, I am reminded of some problems that occurred in the Prospect Hill area a while back, which involved a Westview homeowner's trees being actually poisoned, possibly by someone living north of that property who would benefit by having a better view of the water. To my knowledge, no charges were filed, but I guess it would indicate that some folks feel pretty strongly about improving their water views. And having an actual cell tower installation affecting this view would likely give someone a heart attack or seizure at this point.

Indeed, we live in a strange world these days....

Anyway...to the bullies.....enough already with the nasty and threatening remarks.....let the District Officials do their jobs....
