2 Men Hospitalized After Hartford Double-Shooting: HPD

The shooting was reported Tuesday night based on a ShotSpotter activation, police said.

HARTFORD, CT — City police are investigating a double-shooting in Battles Street on Tuesday night that sent two men to the hospital.

According to the Hartford Police Department, the shooting was reported at about 7:25 p.m. when the HPD responded to a ShotSpotter activation near 42 Battles St.

Police said officers located evidence of gunfire, and minutes later, Hartford Hospital reported two male victims had arrived with gunshot wounds.

"The victims — one in his 50s and one in his 70s — were both alert and conscious upon arrival at the hospital," the HPD said in a statement.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions are conducting the investigation.
