HARTFORD/WEST HARTFORD, CT — Animal control officers in Hartford and West Hartford are investigating a reported dognapping in which two French bulldogs were stolen right from someone's yard.
According to the CT Dog Gone Recovery Volunteer Network, the male and female dogs — classified as "emotional support animals" — were stolen Wednesday afternoon in Hartford at about 2:30 p.m.
The incident reportedly happened on Collins Street in Hartford, with the dogs' owner seeing a man enter his fenced-in yard and take the dogs, according to CT Dog Gone.

"The owners just need to get these pups back," wrote CT Dog Gone. "They are emotional support animals to their two autistic children, who are missing them very much."
Shortly after CT Dog Gone issued a notice, West Hartford Animal Control said they are also investigating.
"Two beloved dogs were stolen, and their family is absolutely heartbroken without them," wrote West Hartford Animal Control.
West Hartford Animal Control urged folks to keep an eye out for the dogs and the red Honda.
"If you happen to see them — even a quick glimpse — please call in your sighting right away. Your kindness, your eyes, and your willingness to help could be the very thing that leads these sweet dogs back into the loving arms that miss them so much," wrote West Hartford Animal Control.
"For the safety of everyone, and to keep the dogs calm and secure, we kindly ask that you do not approach the dogs or anyone involved. A simple call is all it takes, and it truly makes a difference."
Anyone who may have seen the dogs or the red Honda to call in the sighting to the CT Dog Gone Network at 860-481-9300. There is a reward for their safe return.
