Serious Crash Cleared In East Hartford: UPDATE

EAST HARTFORD, CT — A serious, multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 84 on Wednesday morning closed a portion of the highway in East Hartford, according to the state Department of Transportation, but it is now cleared.

The DOT reports the accident was on I-84 West at Exit 55, resulting in the highway being closed at Exit 57.

This had caused a traffic jam of approximately 6.6 miles between exits 60 and 55, state officials said.

The accident was first reported at 8:36 a.m., and by late morning, it was no longer showing on the DOT's incident report.
