4 Families Displaced After Hartford Apartment Building Fire: HFD
Many of those forced out in the Tuesday morning blaze were children.
HARTFORD, CT — A serious apartment building fire on Albany Avenue in Hartford on Tuesday morning displaced several residents and multiple families.
According to the Hartford Fire Department, responders were called at 12:26 a.m. Tuesday to 163-`65 Albany Ave. to a reported structure fire.
"Crews arrived to heavy fire showing from a three-story, occupied mixed-use building in the city’s Clay Arsenal neighborhood," wrote the HFD on Tuesday.

As a result, the HFD said a working fire was declared and a second alarm was transmitted for additional support.
Fire officials said flames were located in the cockloft above the third floor, and primary and secondary searches for any victims were completed with none found.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported, the HFD said, adding crews remained on scene conducting suppression and overhaul.
Ultimately, the fire displaced four families involving 22 people, eight of whom were children, the HFD reported.
The fire is under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office, and the department's special services unit is coordinating with the American Red Cross to assist displaced families.
