Another Dead Dog Found In East Hartford: Authorities
For the second time in a week, a dog was found dead in the East Hartford community.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — For the second time in a week, East Hartford's animal control department is investigating the discovery of a dead dog in the community.
According to the department Sunday night, officers that morning were notified that a dog's body was found in a garbage bag in a wooded area near 53/55 Forbes St./Cottage Street.
"We are very sad and disturbed to report that a second deceased dog has been found thrown away like trash in less than one week," wrote East Hartford Animal Control.

Authorities said the dog appears to be a young pitbull-type dog, maybe 4-10 weeks old suffering from an apparent gunshot to its side.
"The dog appears to be mostly brown but, due to the beginning of decomposition, it’s hard to say if it may be grey as well in some areas," wrote the department.

This was the second dog death discovered in East Hartford in a week.
Last week, the East Hartford Animal Control Department discovered a deceased adult golden retriever dog found in a garbage can on Tuesday, March 18.
The adult, male, intact, golden retriever was found deceased in a garbage can with a garbage bag over it.
The dog's body was left behind at the abandoned Stop & Shop at 940 Silver Lane.
Anyone with information on this or the other dog's death is asked to call the East Hartford Animal Control Department office at 860-291-7572 and leave a message.
