Black Veterans Honored At Veterans Day Film Screening In Hartford
A West Hartford veteran is among those featured in a new film being unveiled at The Wadsworth in Hartford on Saturday, Nov. 11.
HARTFORD/WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford military veteran is among many vets profiled in a special documentary film that will be unveiled at Hartford's Wadsworth Atheneum Saturday, Nov. 11.
The Veterans Day program will feature several veterans, including Dr. Jeffrey Hines, who served in the U.S. Army from 1985-2002.
There, the film "Voice of Veterans: Buffalo Soldiers and Beyond" will be celebrated for its take on the history and legacy of Black men and women in the military.

The event is part of The Amistad Center for Art & Culture's program offerings at The Wadsworth, which includes items from prominent Black military heroes.
The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Wadsworth Aheneum's Loctite Lobby/Aetna Theater, 600 Main St., Hartford.

Free and open to the public, the program starts with a 2 p.m. reception, a 3 p.m. film screening and a post-film panel discussion on the topic.
According to the Wadsworth, the program was made possible by a grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and by funds provided by the state through the American Rescue Plan Act – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund – administered by the CT Office of the Arts, Department of Economic & Community Development.
