Car Slams Into Site Of Former Iconic Hartford Eatery: Reports

The Hartford Police Department has taken the driver into custody after the driver initially fled the scene.

HARTFORD, CT — The former site of a beloved Hartford restaurant was badly damaged early Wednesday morning when a car careened into the structure.

According to WFSB Channel 3, the accident happened at 942 Main St. at the site of the former City Steam Brewery restaurant/brewpub.

City Steam, a once iconic eatery, closed in March 2024 after more than four decades in business.

WVIT Channel 30 reported the accident was at about 2:45 a.m. and the driver, who initially fled the scene, was later apprehended.
