DAR Chapter Makes a Difference in Its Community

At a recent meeting, Trumbull-Porter Chapter members assembled donations for a local food bank as the need to support our local food banks has become more important than ever. Food banks are non-profit organizations that collect, store and distribute the donations to other organization as well as directly to individuals in need. Trumbull-Porter Chapter’s donations will have an impact on what this local food bank can do for the community.

DAR members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but all share a common bond of having an ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the United States of America. Any woman 18 years or older regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join.
