Dead Dog Found In Garbage Can In East Hartford: Authorities
East Hartford Animal Control posted disturbing images of the golden retriever as it investigates what happened.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — The East Hartford Animal Control Department is investigating the ghastly discovery of a deceased adult golden retriever dog found in a garbage can Tuesday.
The department posted disturbing images of the dog in the hope someone might be able to identify it and assist officials in their investigation.
"We need the public’s help identifying the owner of this dog. The pictures below may be upsetting to see," wrote East Hartford Animal Control.

The adult, male, intact, golden retriever was found deceased in a garbage can with a garbage bag over it.
The dog's body was left behind the abandoned Stop & Shop at 940 Silver Lane.

Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates are assisting the department with getting a necropsy done to identify the cause of death.
