Elderly Woman Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle In East Hartford: Police
The EHPD on Friday identified the woman killed in Thursday morning's accident at a busy intersection in town.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — Local police Friday identified an elderly woman as the victim struck and killed by a vehicle in town Thursday morning.
According to the East Hartford Police Department, the woman killed has been identified as East Hartford resident Pearl Lukas, 80.
Police said the incident happened at the intersection of Silver Lane and Forbes Street near Sunset Ridge School at approximately 5:15 a.m. Thursday.

According to the EHPD, officers responded to the intersection of Silver Lane and Forbes Street following a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers located an older female with serious injuries lying on the roadway in front of 463 Forbes St., police said.

"The East Hartford Police and Fire Department provided immediate medical assistance; however, East Hartford FD paramedics pronounced the victim deceased on scene," wrote the EHPD.
The situation resulted in a lengthy road closure at the site as police investigated.
The EhPD said Friday the investigation is ongoing and there are "no new developments since the crash."
