HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford-based nonprofit arts/film organization celebrated the groundbreaking last week of a major expansion at its 56 Arbor St. site.

"Yesterday was a great day at Real Art Ways," wrote Real Art Ways out of Hartford last Friday regarding the Thursday, Nov. 20, groundbreaking.

"Not only did we 'break ground' in true Real Art Ways fashion, but we also got to do it with so many of our friends, members, long-time supporters, and collaborators."

That "true Real Art Ways fashion" meant instead of going outside and breaking the ground, officials brought the ground inside and "broke ground."

The organization also announced it will continue to show independent and classic movies through Sunday, Jan. 4.

While the expansion is officially underway, Real Art Ways said there's more work to do.

"Even as we reach this important milestone in the expansion, we still have a ways to go," wrote the organization.

Meanwhile, its "Come Together, Imagine More" expansion capital campaign is still open for donations.
