Hartford Marathon To Bring Excitement And Traffic Impacts
Hartford police said several city streets will be closed the morning of this weekend's big event.
HARTFORD, CT — Saturday is an exciting day on Hartford's sports scene, but for motorists, it is a day requiring patience.
On Saturday, Oct. 11, the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon will bring world-class runners to the streets of Connecticut's capital city.
And that means several street closures in the city, according to the Hartford Police Department.

In fact, the HPD said about 30 different streets will be impacted by the race, which starts at 7:55 a.m. at the front steps of the Connecticut State Capitol building.
As a result, the HPD issued a few tips of information relative to the event:

• No Parking begins early along the race route.
•Towing operations start by 4:30 a.m.
• Streets will reopen by 2 p.m.
"Please plan ahead, follow posted signs, and help keep runners safe," wrote the HPD.
