HARTFORD, CT — A state lawmaker who was assaulted in Hartford in 2023 had her lawsuit against the Hartford Police Department dismissed in federal court on Wednesday.
According to WFSB Channel 3, state Rep. Maryam Khan, D-Windsor, had sued the HPD, alleging officers did not respond appropriately after she was physically attacked in 2023.

She was attacked while leaving a Muslim prayer service on June 28, 2023.
WVIT Channel 30 reported that Khan publicly criticized the HPD, claiming there was no ambulance on scene and no one was there to provide medical attention after the attack.
Police body cam footage, however, showed police asking Khan if she needed an ambulance, to which she said, "I don't think so," WVIT reported.
Eventually, however, Khan sought an evaluation, and medical aid arrived nine minutes after the call for service, according to WVIT.
WFSB said Khan has until Oct. 3 to resubmit an amended lawsuit if desired.
