Liberty Mazda Test Drive Event Raises Funds for Weaver High School Students

Hartford community members braved the cold weather to invest in local students, one test drive at a time.

Members of the Hartford community, including Mayor Arunan Arulampalam, came together on October 28th at Weaver High School for a test drive experience hosted by Liberty Mazda.

As part of Mazda’s Be Moved Drive Program, Liberty Mazda donated $50 for every qualifying test drive to Weaver High School’s student activities fund. The money raised will help support students in a variety of ways, from school trips to updated equipment and resources and more, all meant to enrich the student experience.

At the event, Tiffany Webley, Weaver HS Principal, said: “Today’s event with Liberty Mazda and Weaver High School will help raise money for our student activities fund. We’re thankful for the Mazda Be Moved Drive Program which is investing in the future of our students.”

The event took place from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at Weaver High School, bringing together students, families, community members, and local leaders in a show of school pride and community spirit. The sun was beaming and the wind was harsh, but that didn’t stop people from showing up for these students. Participants were able to choose from four different Mazda models to drive: the CX-70, CX-50, CX-90, and CX-90 PHEV.

Jason Behan, General Manager of Liberty Mazda, emphasized the importance of the event: “The Mazda Be Moved Drive Program is about more than getting behind the wheel, it’s about driving change in our Hartford community. Liberty Mazda is proud to partner with Weaver High School to raise funds for the student activities fund.”
