McCrory Cruises In 2nd Senate Democratic Primary

He defeated two Windsor Democratic challengers for the party nomination Tuesday.

HARTFORD, CT — State Sen. Douglas McCrory, D-Hartford, easily survived a three-way primary challenge Tuesday for his 2nd Senate District seat.

McCrory was first elected in a special election in 2017 and has held the seat ever since.

The Dems on the ballot for the primary were McCrory; Shellye Davis of Windsor; and Ayana Taylor of Windsor.

The 2nd Senate District includes parts of Hartford, Windsor and Bloomfield.

In winning the Democratic nomination, McCrory carried the votes in Hartford and Bloomfield, with Taylor earning the most votes in Windsor.

Overall, McCrory garnered 3,670 votes to Taylor's 1,955 and Davis' 525 votes.

He will now face GOP-nominated challenger Kristen Hoffman in November.
