WATCH: Humorous Shenanigans Reported At Hartford DUI Checkpoint: Police

The Hartford Police Department stopped a rather unusual vehicle during a recent drunk driving checkpoint ... and it's all on film.

HARTFORD, CT — A drunk driving checkpoint in Hartford this week resulted in one vehicle in line fleeing police.

But the Hartford Police Department is not investigating and won't charge the driver with anything.

As the HPD put it during a Facebook post on Wednesday, a "suspicious vehicle" rolled up to the checkpoint going about 4 miles per hour.

"The team stayed ready — one officer even faked deploying the stop sticks — before the vehicle took off," wrote the HPD.

Of course, the vehicle was only slightly taller than the officers' ankles. It was a toy RC car.

Officers on duty enjoyed the levity, but said the reason for DUI checkpoints is serious.

"While this moment gave everyone a laugh, DUI checkpoints serve a serious purpose," wrote the HPD.

"We run them throughout the year to reduce impaired driving and keep our roads safe."
