16 Middletown Student-Athletes Sign Collegiate Letters of Intent

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A total of 16 graduating student-athletes from the Middletown public school system have signed to play their respective sports at the collegiate level.

They were recognized in a ceremony May 30 at Middletown High School.

The sports include basketball, soccer, track and field, baseball and a collegiate dance team.

"We are proud of our student-athletes who have demonstrated remarkable tenacity," Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Alberto Vazquez Matos said. "Their ability to excel in both academics and athletics speaks to their remarkable character and work ethic. We wish them all the best as they embark on this exciting new chapter in their lives."

Added athletic Director, Elisha De Jesus, "Today is a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and passion of our student-athletes. It has been an honor to watch them grow and develop over the years. I have no doubt that they will continue to achieve great things at the collegiate level and beyond. Congratulations to each of them and their families."
