Armed Robbery at Marlborough Pizza Place Prompts Investigation
A man allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register, CT State Police said.

A man reportedly entered Village Green Pizza, 32 East Hampton Rd., Marlborough, displayed a black-colored semiautomatic handgun, and demanded that employees hand over all of the money in the cash register.
The suspect reportedly stated “No monkey business” and directed employees to stay back, according to a release from the Connecticut State Police.
Troopers from Troop K-Colchester responded to Village Green Pizza at approximately 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29. Upon arrival, troopers secured the scene and searched the area for suspects. None were located.

Troopers conducted an initial investigation where they determined Village Green Pizza was robbed at gunpoint by a lone male suspect. Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The suspect was described as a white man with green eyes, approximately 6-feet tall with a stocky build, dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a black neoprene face mask, and wearing black mechanic-type gloves with white writing on the back of the gloves.
Employees placed an undisclosed amount of money in a white plastic takeout bag with a yellow smiley face on it, police said.
The suspect left the store and entered a dark colored, possibly green, later model Honda or Toyota and headed east towards Route 2. No injuries were reported, according to police.
