City Of Middletown Youth Services Bureau Conducting Survey

The City of Middletown’s Youth Services Bureau is conducting a study to learn how young people and the adults in their lives find connection and support in a post-pandemic environment. We recognize that the challenges over the last several years have created both needs and opportunities that must be collected, analyzed, and part of plans to support the community moving forward.

We are looking to recruit the following subgroups for virtual interviews:

• Middletown residents in grades 9-12 (any school)
• Middletown residents who are parents of school aged children (pre-K through 12th)
• Educators/staff within the Middletown school system
• Youth serving professionals within Middletown-based organizations/programs (could include anything from after school programs to mental health supports)

A fifth subgroup of middle school students will follow a separate recruitment process involving focus groups.

If you are chosen to participate, you will take part in a 45 minute 1:1 remote interview, over Zoom. The interview will cover topics about leadership, connection with the community, where support is found, and other topics about what has changed for you and continues to evolve in a post-pandemic world.

Your participation is completely voluntary, your name won’t be identified in the reporting, and there are no right or wrong answers.

Participants will receive a $25 gift card.

Your answers will help us select participants for the study. Should you qualify, someone with the Middletown Youth Services Bureau (MYSB) will contact you via email over the next 5 - 10 business days to schedule an interview time. Your responses will only be shared with the project team.
