Grapplers From Xavier High School Win Multiple CIAC Divisional Titles
The Falcons easily claimed the Class L team championship Saturday, with four team members prevailing in their respective weight classes.

WILTON, CT — For the fifth straight season, the wrestling team from Xavier High School proved dominant at the CIAC Class L championships Saturday.
On the strength of four wrestlers capturing individual weight class victories, the Falcons compiled 296.5 points, easily outdistancing the 219 of runner-up Newtown. The East Lyme/Norwich Tech co-op team was third with 165.
Weight class winners from Xavier were Zack Dixon (106 lbs.), Bradley Ament (113), Braylon Gonzalez (132) and Maximus Morse (175). Seven other Falcons were placewinners, including runners-up Vincent Rivera (150), Chase Catalano (165) and Alden Gaboury (285).

Xavier will attempt to claim its fourth consecutive State Open crown Feb. 28 and March 1 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.
