Middletown Arrests: April 4-15

The following information was provided by the Middletown Police public information officer. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Middletown Police report the following arrests: 

April 15
FAILURE TO RESPOND, SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 12:10 p.m., Jamale L. Spikes, 28, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.  

April 14
DISORDERLY CONDUCT, VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, THREATENING — At 9:35 p.m., police received a 911 hangup from a man saying his fiance attacked him; when police called back, he said she hit him twice but they would "work it out," the report says. Sarah B. Davis, 39, of Gale Avenue, Meriden, hit him on the face, said she was going to cut his throat and have their landlord kill him, according to the report. She denied doing so, then said he had thrown her against the wall and punched her in the back "really hard" 50 times. She had no marks on her body, police say.

POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL, DISTRIBUTION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES AND LESS THAN 1,500 FEET FROM SCHOOL — At 9:37 p.m. James Hardy, 35, of Wall Street was driving an Infinity I30 parked in a private Hamlin Court lot with a woman in the driver's seat and a man behind her in the back seat. Hardy, the report says, is a known narcotics dealer with numerous past convictions for drug sales and weapons possession. When Hardy stepped out of the car, there was a rock of crack cocaine on his seat, the report says, and he said it was his.

BREACH OF PEACE — At 4:29 a.m., Krystal Hull, 22, of Thomas Street fought with her mother physically after she was asked to leave the home. The report says Hull tried to take some of her mother's items.

April 13
DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 7:45 p.m. Renee Mack, 49, of Prospect Street fought with her 17-year-old daughter, who had a bloody and swollen right eye and neck scratches, according to the report. 

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — Shaun M. Gaskins, 28, of Burgundy Hill Lane assaulted Yvette Dempsey, who was bleeding from her head. Police say Gaskins arrived to take their children to the movies but fought with her over text messages she sent, according to the report, then they struggled and he hit her with a stick. Gaskins, police say, has an extensive criminal history including arrests and convictions for assaults and protective orders and third-degree assault. Gaskins was charged with above; Dempsey for violation of a protective order.

VIOLATION OF PROBATION — At 11:02 p.m., James Miner, 33, of Washington Street was in the Wesley Inn & Suites parking lot on Washington Street and found with an outstanding warrant.

April 12
FAILURE TO RESPOND — At 2:30 p.m., Patrick Morrison, 51, of no certain address was at Middletown Area Transit on Main Street while intoxicated, the report says, and found with an outstanding warrant. He also had, the report says, four Vicodin pills.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 5:45 p.m., Kimberlee A. Donofrio, 30, of Dora Drive fought with a man over sexually oriented pictures she owned that were found in the house, according to the report. While she was on her way to work, the victim texted her and she came home then threw items all over the kitchen. She refused to be removed to the house, the report says, and had to be carried out.

April 11
OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, EXHAUST PIPE REQUIREMENTS — At 7:40 p.m., Donald G. Demoranville, 48, of Stoneycrest Drive was driving a Volkswagen Gulf on Newfield Street with a defective muffler. The report says Demoranville was aware the muffler had a hole in it and had just bought the car from a friend for $150 and got a plate from another friend.

April 10
OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — Richard M. Mazzotta, 52, of Strongs Avenue, Portland, was driving on Spring Street without a front license plate and a driver's license suspended since 2008.

April 8
POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL, POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE — At 6:17 p.m., Christopher Jones, 19, of Heritage Boulevard, was driving  Chevrolet Impala on Liberty and Pearl without stopping at the sign. The report says four people were inside the car, which smelled of marijuana, and a police canine found a backpack with 12 bags of marijuana inside totaling 19.1 grams.

April 7
INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — At 5:30 p.m., Neyvone Harris, 46, of Asylum Avenue, Hartford, was driving a Nissan Maxima on Prospect Street. 

April 6 
SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 9:36 p.m., Shaquava Jenkins, 21, of Willow Street, Waterbury, was driving on Newfield near Westfield Street with an outstanding warrant.

April 4
OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT A LICENSE — At 6:05 p.m., Jesus M. Otway, 24, of Pearl Street was driving a motorcycle on Spring Street.
