Middletown Arrests: March 24 to April 1
The following information was provided by the Middletown Police public information officer. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Middletown Police report the following incidents:
April 1
TWO COUNTS EACH FIRST- AND SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — Imad Hassan, 33, of no certain address, East Hartford, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant. DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Richie A. Chaia, 19, of Old Farms West allegedly pushed his mother in the chest and knocked her coffee off the counter while screaming at and insulting her, police say. He refused to speak to police, saying, "I take the fourth, I mean the fifth."

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, SECOND-DEGREE HARASSMENT — At 5 a.m., an officer was stopped by a woman who said her ex-husband Jeffrey M. Bronson, 36, of Ridge Road was throwing rocks and pennies at her window. The report says he was standing outside for 10 minutes and sent a text saying he knew a man was inside so she texted him to leave.
VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, THREATENING, FIRST-DEGREE UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT — At 1:40 a.m., police were called to a home on Stoney Crest Drive about a man armed with a knife who hit a woman. The report says when police arrived they saw Reginald T. Speller, 42, of Stoney Crest Drive and the victim on the front steps and found Speller with a knife. The report says the victim was thrown down, hit her head and threatened to be stabbed by Speller.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — At 1:23 a.m., police responded to Mezzo Grill on Court Street about Brandon Taylor, 33, of Ridgewood Road, who the manager said refused to leave the area. The report says police found him moments later screaming at a man and woman on Main in front of Mallove's Jewelers, and told him to go home. At 1:50 a.m., he was seen at Green and Main streets fighting with a different man and Michelle E. Bacote, 42, of Spring Street; both were told to move along. At 2:02 a.m., police saw two groups at Main and Grand streets, the report says, and Taylor screaming at Bacote with she doing the same, the report indicates, then punching toward his face. He refused to get to the ground, police say, so they Tased him and he fell down but refused to comply so he was Tased again. Taylor then told officers he was acting this way because he was drunk, the two knew each other and had a history. He was charged with the above and Bacote for disorderly conduct.
VIOLATION OF RESTRAINING ORDER — Dylan E. Esposito, 39, of Bartholomew Road was at McDonald's on South Main Street and discovered with an outstanding warrant, according to the report. March 29 DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 10:18 p.m., police responded to a domestic assault between a father, Jan Wilczynski, 57, of Elizabeth Lane and his son, after the son invited friends over to play ping-pong in the garage, the report says. His father Wilczynski had been drinking and became angry the son was lazy, so he punched him a number of times in the face, to which the son pushed him back. The report says the son refused to give a statement, saying only, "he's my father. I love him." The father admitted to punching his son but was "fed up" he didn't have a job for a long time, then told police his son was a "demon." His wife was home during the argument and heard yelling and objects breaking, the report says.
March 28
POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, FIRST-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 4:40 p.m., Tony L. Smith, 58, of Hillside Avenue way lying on Washington Street by High having a seizure, the report says. At Middlesex Hospital, he was found with crack he said he found in the street, police say. Two small plastic bags had .06 grams of crack inside. He was found with an active warrant and when discharged from the hospital, he was processed.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM — Brandi Darmanin, 29, of Plaza Drive was driving a Cadillac Deville on Industrial Park Road. March 17 OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, AND WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — At 9:46 p.m., Timothy A. Quinn, 21, of Highmeadow Lane was driving a Nissan on Saybrook road near East Main Street.
