Middletown Firefighters Reunite With Woman They Saved

A Middletown lieutenant and two firefighters resuscitated the then-UNH athlete using an AED and CPR.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, Middletown Lt. Mark Tine, Firefighter Rich Mastroianni and Firefighter Dave Ribnicky were reunited with the young woman they resuscitated by using an AED and CPR last year at a call in Middletown.

The three City of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073 members were invited to the University of New Haven event to support the university’s efforts to raise money for the Nick of Time Foundation, according to a Facebook post from the firefighters.

The foundation was created by the parents of a 16-year-old athlete who suffered Sudden Cardiac Arrest in 2004. The UNH athletic department raised more than $1,700 in support of Nick Of Time, surpassing their goal.
