MIDDLETOWN, CT — The CIAC Class M boys swimming championships took place Monday at the Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford. Senior Nathan Ivans of Middletown High School emerged as the 1-meter diving champion, but that result has been known for several days.

In Connecticut, the diving competition is always conducted separately from the rest of the pool events. Class M diving actually took place Wednesday, and Ivans won without ever having to leave his hometown, as Middletown played host to the divers.

Ivans compiled 443.85 points to easily outdistance runner-up Luke Polmatier of Wethersfield, who had 391.70.
